SAHARAWI ARAB DEMOCRATIC Republic (SADR), SET OF 3 COINS
The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) is a disputed territory in Western Sahara that is claimed by both Morocco and the Polisario Front, a national liberation movement. The SADR has issued its own currency, the Sahrawi peseta, in 1992.
The SADR issued its first coins in 1992, a set of three denominations: 1, 2 and 5 pesetas. The coins feature the national emblem of the SADR on the obverse and Camel being led right by Arab on the reverse.
The coins are made of Copper-nickel and have a plain edge. They are scarce and sought after by collectors of African coins.
