The Maldivian rufiyaa is the currency of the Maldives. The issuance of the currency is controlled by the Maldives Monetary Authority.The present currency Maldives Rufiyaa come into existence from 1947. 100 Laari = 1 Rufiyaa.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, lead the successful campaign for India's independence from British rule.

He was Born in 2 October 1869, in Porbandar Gujrat, Full name is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Gandhiji studied law from, London, and moved to South Africa in 1893. In 1915, he returned to India. He assuming leadership of the Indian National Congress in 1921, 

He headed Dandi Salt March in 1930, participated Quit India in 1942. India become independent in 1947 under his leader ship and Gandhi was assassinated in 30 January 1948 at New Delhi.

In 1969 Reserve Bank of India Minted 4 Coins to commemorate The centennial of Mahatma Gandhi's birth
