Azerbaijan is a country located in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia. It is bordered by Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia and Turkey to the west, and Iran to the south. The Caspian Sea lies to the east.

Azerbaijan has a long and rich history dating back to the Bronze Age. The region was ruled by a number of different empires over the centuries, including the Persians, the Arabs, the Turks, and the Russians. Azerbaijan declared its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Azerbaijan is a developing country with a growing economy. The country is rich in natural resources, including oil and gas. Azerbaijan is also a popular tourist destination, known for its beautiful scenery, historical sites, and vibrant culture.

The currency of Azerbaijan is the Azerbaijani manat (₼). The manat is subdivided into 100 gapiks. The current manat was introduced in 1993, replacing the Soviet ruble.
Azerbaijani manat banknotes are available in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 manat.
Azerbaijani manat coins are available in denominations of 1, 3, and 5 manat.
The old currency of Azerbaijan was the ruble, which was introduced in 1923. The ruble was replaced by the manat in 1993.
