All about the new 75 Rupees coin that was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday?
Hello and welcome to my video blog. Today I'm going to talk about the new 75 Rupees coin that was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. This coin marks the inauguration of the new parliament building and the celebration of India's 75th year of Independence. It is a special coin that is not available for general exchange, but only as a collectible.
But what is a commemorative coin? A commemorative coin is a coin that is produced to mark a special occasion, event, or issue. These coins usually have a unique design that reflects the occasion for which they were created. Despite being authorised currency, these coins are not produced for widespread use. India has issued 150 commemorative coins since 1960 for various occasions, such as memorialising significant individuals, promoting government initiatives, and recalling important eras in history.
So what are the features of the new 75 Rupees coin? The coin has a weight of about 35 grams and a composition of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc. It has an image of the Ashoka Pillar's Lion Capital in the centre, with the words "Bharat" in Devanagari script and "INDIA" in English on either side. It also has the rupee symbol " ₹" and denominational value "75" in international numerals inscribed below the Lion Capital. The other side of the coin has an image of the Parliament Complex and the year "2023" in international numerals. Here is how the coin looks like.
If you are interested in buying this coin as a collectible, you have two options: online or offline. You can order these coins on the government's website, www.indiagovtmint.in. You can make payments through debit/credit cards and demand drafts. You will need to provide your PAN card details if you want to buy more than 10 coins. You can also visit the mint personally to purchase the coin. The mints usually provide all the details of the coins on their notice board. However, you need to book the coins in advance, sometimes three to six months prior to the launch.
How much does this coin cost? Well, the government has not listed the price for the coin yet. And the price may vary depending on the mint location and availability. You can check with the officials at the mint or on the website for more information.
